Transport Freedom! - Sue’s Story

Just when I needed it, I discovered a wonderful service.

It’s called ...

... Freedom Companion Driving, a specialised taxi service for the disabled and those with, or without, a disability card.

Freedom drove me to the hospital, fetched me a wheelchair, then pushed me down the long corridor to the Physiotherapy Department.

After my physio session, there they were – Freedom! – waiting for me, ready to perform the reverse and drive me back home.

And, by the way, Freedom were $2.00 cheaper than the local taxi service.

This is my access story, it is one of many. I'm sharing it because I want a law that puts accessibility at the heart of an inclusive Aotearoa New Zealand.
