Hearing New Zealand

Hearing New Zealand

Hearing New Zealand is the oldest and the largest consumer group for hearing loss in New Zealand.

Our work is dedicated to improving the lives of our members and non-members through one-on-one support and services for the hearing impaired.

We are also involved in advocacy, education and research.

Hearing is often left out of the disability sector. It is seen as an inevitable aging condition, which often then disadvantages people, especially children in getting services.

By aligning with other organisations in the disability sector, we want to make our voices louder.

We are stronger together. 50% of all hearing loss is preventable. That is around 50,000 people in New Zealand.

We hope to educate people on how to protect their hearing and improve access to resources for those who have hearing impairment.

Hearing New Zealand supports people with any kind of hearing loss. We educate and advocate for heathy hearing and work to help those with hearing loss with free, friendly, helpful, professional and independent advice on hearing issues.
